Each visit to Paris was completely different. There was only one constant, one source and that was Gurdjieff himself.
— A.L. Staveley

A.L. Staveley was an American from the Pacific Northwest who lived in England for many years and studied the ideas of Gurdjieff. After the Second World War, she and her fellow students traveled to Paris to study under Gurdjieff. In the late 1960s she was asked to start groups in Oregon, and Two Rivers Farm became the site of our spiritual practice. Mrs. Staveley died in 1996.

Russell Glenn and Jerry Cunningham were longtime students of Mrs. Staveley and continue their search for Being at Two Rivers Farm.

Mrs. Staveley thought it would be good to have "satellite" groups, and we have honored her wish and carried on groups continuously since early 2000.
